When I was young, one of the chores I hated doing was ironing clothes. We used an old-fashioned flat iron back then so it was a bit difficult and a bit dangerous for a clumsy person like me. So when I grew up and lived on my own, I didn’t really want to iron my clothes and so I usually buy crease-free clothes or I just didn’t bother to iron anything. But of course not all clothes are just wash and wear. And when you’re traveling, it’s also pretty inconvenient. There are portable steam irons out there but most of them are not that effective and may also be sometimes dangerous.
Darimeven is a concept for a dual-functional steam iron that makes it easier for you to iron out clothes even if you’re just using one hand. What makes it different from others that are currently in the market is that it uses static electricity to pull the clothes towards the heat module. This way, it’s more convenient to iron out creases even if the piece of clothing is just hanging on the clothes hanger and you don’t have an ironing board to put them on. The designer used 3D printing modules to test it out if it will actually work with repeated prototyping.

Crafted for durability and efficiency, the heat and steam module of the Darimeven utilizes a robust aluminum alloy. This material ensures rapid and even heat distribution across its dual ironing system, which likely incorporates both a traditional flat surface for pressing and strategically placed steam vents for tackling stubborn wrinkles. Powering this rapid heating is an integrated electronic static electricity (SE) generator, a key innovation that enables the device’s unique functionality. Alongside this is a compact vibration water pump that efficiently delivers water from the vertical water tank to create the steam needed for effective wrinkle removal. The sub button on the side is the one that controls the static electricity which is responsible for pulling the clothes against the plate. The steam iron can be powered by an AA battery so it can be brought wherever you need an iron, even if there is no power supply.
With its innovative use of static electricity and cordless design, Darimeven presents a compelling solution for those who dread ironing or need a convenient way to smooth out wrinkles on the go. This one-handed wonder promises to make ironing a less cumbersome task, bringing wrinkle-free confidence to your wardrobe, no matter where life takes you. Now whether it will actually work when produced is another question for another day.
