Rico Nasty Switches up in Joint "BUTTERLY KISSES" & "CAN'T WIN EM ALL" Video

Maryland-born rapper Rico Nasty has released two new singles, "BUTTERFLY KISSES" and "CAN'T WIN EM ALL,"  from her forthcoming LP LETHAL. The music video for the two new tracks distills the duality Rico has built into her persona, juxtaposing her bubbly sonic signatures with her emo indie influences."BUTTERLY KISSES" opens with a short interlude spoken by Rico's friend and popular rapper Zack Fox. Saying "He met you once — you can like somebody and meet them once. He said, he, he is attracted to you, your energy, your essence... dumbass," Fox leads the listener into perhaps thinking they are getting a sappy love song, but the track is quite opposite. She opens the first verse in her melodic autotune, "Blackout shades, don't like the light unless I'm looking at diamonds. Whips and chains all in the crib, baby girl into that bondage. Bundles pull back when I ride, pop out, rockin' my bonnet. Bitch, don't speak on me, we slide, gang shit, we be mobbin'."The production led by Imad Royal is led by a hard-hitting arpeggiated synth and carried by a crushed trap beat, evoking the Hyperpop–Rap style Rico has developed over the years with producers like Kenny Beats and Dylan Brady. "CAN'T WIN EM ALL" shows a softer side of the artist, opening with the line "Crash out, go on a walk, I don't wanna talk," over a filtered and reverberating instrumental. After a relatively quiet couple of years, "Sugar Trap" queen Rico Nasty is booting back up with a new LP slated for May 16 and her acting debut in Apple TV+ and A24’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles alongside Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfieffer, Nicole Kidman, Nick Offerman, Lindsey Normington & more.Watch the video for "BUTTERLY KISSES" & "CAN'T WIN EM ALL" in the window above.
