“Star Wars” Horror Project In The Works?

“Andor” creator and showrunner Tony Gilroy has dropped the hint that a horror project set within the “Star Wars” universe is in the works at Lucasfilm.

Ahead of his show’s second season return in just under two weeks, he spoke with Business Insider who asked him what he would do if Lucasfilm and Disney hired him for a “Star Wars” horror project.

The answer was surprising – he says one is already in development without him: “They’re doing that, I think they’re doing that. I think that’s in the works, yeah.”

Gilroy didn’t specify whether this project will be a film, TV series or special and there are no further details at this time.

Several “Star Wars” projects are in the works right now with “The Mandalorian & Grogu” film and a second season of “Ahsoka” both expected to release next year, Shawn Levy’s “Star Wars” film currently moving forward and others from Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and James Mangold also in development.

“Star Wars” hasn’t really done horror before, though has skirted the edge at times. The closest was likely the abandoned “Star Wars 1313” game in which a young Boba Fett finds himself in an underground area of Coruscant known as Level 1313 where the abominations of this industrialised world reside.
