SSP to introduce Point convenience stores at 40 German railway stations
Point is SSP’s proprietary convenience brand tailored to travel locations, and will now be rolled out into major German rail stations including Berlin Central, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart, as well as regional hubs.

GERMANY. SSP is set to broaden its long-standing partnership with state-owned railway infrastructure company DB InfraGO, after securing a contract to introduce and operate 40 Point-branded stores at railway stations across Germany.
Point is SSP’s proprietary convenience brand tailored to travel locations, retailing a curated assortment of items including a strong food & beverage offer, magazines and other travel essentials.
The agreement will see existing ServiceStore DB locations converted into Point outlets by the end of this year.
The roll out will include high profile units in key locations including Berlin Central, Hamburg, Frankfurt (Main) and Stuttgart stations, as well as regional hubs including Zwickau, Stralsund and Eisenach.
SSP said the contract marks a major strategic milestone for both partners and reinforces the travel restaurateur and retailer’s leadership in high-traffic travel retail environments in Germany.
The company pledged the new Point stores “will set a high benchmark in the development of station infrastructure, combining international best practice with local market insights, signalling a new era for customer-centric convenience”.
Depending on location and store size, SSP noted the new stores will feature self-checkout systems, digital menu boards and intuitive layouts designed to streamline the customer journey.
SSP Germany Managing Director Oliver Haub commented: “With Point, we have created a format that is perfectly in tune with the evolving demands of the travelling consumer, and the transformation of ServiceStore DB locations into our internationally popular brand is a significant step in the development of our brand portfolio.
“We’d like thank DB InfraGO AG for their trust in our team and look forward to working together with them on this flagship project.”
