See ‘The Monkey’ with Osgood Perkins in Los Angeles This Weekend

The Monkey writer-director Osgood Perkins will be appearing in person for Q&As at select Los Angeles screenings this weekend.

Catch the filmmaker at the Vista Theater on February 20, AMC Century City and AMC The Grove on February 21, AMC Burbank on February 22, and AMC Century City and AMC The Grove on February 23.

Ahead of the wide release, The Monkey 35mm sneak screenings take place tonight, February 18, in Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco.

From producer James Wan, the gory horror comedy is based on the Stephen King short story from his 1985 collection Skeleton Crew.

Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy star.

When twin brothers find a mysterious wind-up monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tear their family apart. 25 years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree forcing the estranged brothers to confront the cursed toy.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “With brisk storytelling efficiency and a playful spirit, The Monkey delivers a Stephen King adaptation like no other. Perkins pushes back against logic in favor of entertaining midnight madness, and death has never been funnier or gorier as a result.”
