Neve Campbell Cast As Marvel’s Polaris – But For What Project? | Barside Buzz

Some hot Barside Buzz the last 24 hours has been around Neve Campbell being cast as Marvel’s Polaris, but for what project? Lets start at the start, which was insider MTTSH who claimed that veteran Scream star Neve Campbell had been cast as mutant character Polaris, in what seemed to fans (never claimed) to be the upcoming X-Men reboot.

Then we had another insider, Alex P from TCC claim that this was definitely not for an X-Men 97′ voice role, as some fans guessed, but for Avengers: Doomsday. This did somewhat make some sense for fans. Given Polaris is of course Magneto’s daughter and Campbell would therefore be playing the daughter of Ian McKellen. 

However, there is now another player in the game. The folks at CBM are now claiming they ran this story past sources. Their sources (they are not a scoop site, but an aggregate site like us) tell them Campbell IS voicing Polaris for X-Men 97′.

So, I think we can probably establish that at some point in her future, Neve Campbell will play Marvel’s Polaris in some kind of X-Men project. Which one, remains to be seen?

If you want my opinion, based on my experience with this game? I will put my money on CBM. Okay, they are not a scoop site, agreed. However, that means they have no reason not to just run the rumors as is. In fact, that’s what they did. It then seems their source see’s the story, gives them a buzz and tells them it’s for X-Men 97′ . CBM then update their original story. This has happened to us from time to time also, is it just feels like it is right to me. 

I think Alex’s source seems off on this one, However, that’s just my personal take. I’ll be happy to apologise if I am wrong down the line.

Former X-Men 97′ showrunner Beau DeMayo has now confirmed he cast Neve Campbell as Polaris for X-Men 97′ Season 2. Alex has admitted he got it wrong. Case closed folks.
