FX has officially set an August 12th two-episode premiere date for this Summer’s “Alien: Earth” TV series. In addition, the first bacth of official photos are out and can be seen below.
The series synopsis indicates a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth and a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.
As members of the crash recovery crew search for survivors in the wreckage, they encounter mysterious predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined. In a fight for survival, what they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.
A recent teaser indicates the crashed ship contains “five different lifeforms from the darkest corners of the universe – each one a unique, deadly species”. The series marks the first time the franchise is getting a TV series incarnation, with events taking place in 2120 – after the “Prometheus” prequels and two years before the events o f Scott’s original film.
Sydney Chandler leads the cast which also includes Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El.
