Meghan Trainor has got fans talking after swapping lyrics in ‘All About That Bass’ to highlight changes to her physical appearance.

The moment took place at the singer’s headline performance at iHeartRadio’s KIIS-FM Wango Tango event last weekend, where she broke out a slightly different version of her 2014 hit.

In the first verse of the track, she swapped out the original line “Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size two”, to “Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I got some new boobs.” It came as a nod to her undergoing a breast augmentation and lift earlier this year.

The move to change the lyrics, however, left some fans in the comment section divided – particularly as the original lyrics were intended to promote body positivity.

“I feel like she shouldn’t be allowed to sing this song anymore […] her body doesn’t represent the song anymore,” one person on TikTok wrote, while another added: “Big is beautiful until you’re rich enough to change it — story of the entertainment industry”.

Others in the comment section on TikTok shared that they thought the change to the song was ironic, while someone else said: “I feel she just morally shouldn’t perform this song anymore.”
