My Chemical Romance will be sharing a deluxe edition of their classic ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’ album to celebrate its 21st anniversary. Check out the new bonus track below.

Announced today (April 11), the new release is set to be an expanded edition of the band’s sophomore album, which remains a fan favourite and has gone three times platinum. It is set for release on June 6 – 21 years to the day since it was first shared. Pre-order it here.

Available on CD, multiple coloured vinyl variants and on a zoetrope 2LP, and digitally, the new release sees MCR commemorate their beloved 2004 record and introduce brand new artwork.

Alongside the original tracklisting – which has been remixed by Grammy Award-winning producer Rich Costey – the collection will also feature four bonus tracks. These were all recorded back in 2005 for the BBC, and include previously unreleased live versions of ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’, ‘Helena’, and ‘The Ghost Of You’.

There is also a live version of the song ‘You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison’, which was originally shared as a B-side to the limited edition UK CD single of ‘I’m Not Okay…’.

To celebrate the announcement of the deluxe edition, Gerard Way and co. have shared the first bonus track, ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’, which was recorded live for BBC Radio 1’s The Lock Up back in 2005. Check it out above.

They have also dropped a new and restored version of the music video for the song. Check it out above, and find the album tracklisting below.

The ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’ deluxe 21st anniversary edition tracklist is:

1. ‘Helena’
2. ‘Give ‘Em Hell, Kid’

Last November, Gerard Way and co announced plans to hit the road again as part of a “Long Live The Black Parade” US tour.

The dates come in celebration of their 2006 album ‘The Black Parade’, and soon made headlines when they completely sold out within hours of going on sale.

The band’s diverse array of support acts for their 2025 US stadium tour then got people talking and drew a polarised reaction online. Each show will feature a different hand-selected artist as opening support – Violent Femmes, 100 Gecs, Wallows, Garbage, Death Cab for Cutie and Thursday, Alice Cooper, Pixies, Devo, IDLES and Evanescence.

At the end of 2024, the band shared a tribute to their former bandmate Bob Bryar, who was found dead in his home at age 44.

“It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Bob Bryar, our former bandmate and an important part of the history of My Chemical Romance,” they wrote. “We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this time. May he rest in peace.”

Bryar was My Chemical Romance’s longest-tenured drummer, performing with the band from 2004 until his departure in 2010.
