Mercurius Group and Monash to explore airport retailer satisfaction in Australia and New Zealand
The independent, syndicated research programme will evaluate retailer sentiment towards airport partners across key business indicators.

AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND. Airport commercial and travel retail specialist The Mercurius Group has partnered with Monash University’s Australian Consumer and Retail Studies (ACRS) on joint research to uncover key insights into airport retailer satisfaction in Australia and New Zealand.
Leveraging ACRS’s successful retailer satisfaction programme for shopping centre landlords across Australia, the independent, syndicated research will evaluate retailer sentiment towards airport partners across key business indicators.
The study analyses renewal intentions, determining how likely retailers are to renew their partnerships with airports.
In addition, the research will delve into landlord and asset performance across critical business areas. This includes how airports manage retail spaces, maintain communication channels with concessionaires, negotiate lease agreements, support retail marketing strategies and enhance collaboration with airports and retail partners.
The Mercurius Group Managing Director Ivo Favotto said, “This project will give airports unfiltered insights into how they are perceived by their retail partners, helping identify strengths and areas for improvement. By fostering transparency, we aim to strengthen relationships between landlords and concessionaires while also attracting more domestic market retailers to the airport environment.”
ACRS Research and Strategy Director Stephanie Atto added, “Our approach is designed to deliver independent, data-driven insights that reflect the real experiences of airport retailers while respecting each retailer’s confidentiality.
“By leveraging our expertise in consumer and retail research, we aim to provide actionable intelligence that supports the ongoing evolution of airport retail environments.”
The study is designed to equip airports with insights to improve retailer relationships and increase commercial performance.
Described as a leading retail research agency and thought leader in Australia, ACRS conducts independent, syndicated research with retail property landlords to provide owners and managers with competitive positioning and areas of improvement for strategic planning.
