Fable Whisky’s latest tale – Eight-chapter collection brings ‘The Lost Keepers of Flannan Isles’ to life
Fable invites whisky enthusiasts to unravel and enjoy the mystery of ‘The Lost Keepers of Flannan Isles’ through its new eight-chapter collection

Pendulum Spirits-owned whisky brand Fable has unveiled the second volume of its storytelling-led premium Scotch whisky product series.

Titled ‘The Lost Keepers of Flannan Isles’, the latest offering features eight single malt expressions, five new distillery makes and a line-up of special blended malt Scotch whiskies set to roll out over the next two years.

Renowned Bolivian illustrator Hugo Cuellar’s distinctive artwork returns on the new Fable collection, reinforcing strong visual presence on shelf

Blending the art of storytelling with animation and illustration, the whisky brand reimagines legendary myths while showcasing carefully selected, limited-edition single malts with distinctive flavour profiles.

The new tale reflects the true story of the lighthouse keepers of Eilean Mor on Scotland’s North Atlantic coast, who mysteriously disappeared in 1900.

The launch is supported by an immersive activation at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, in partnership with Avolta, highlighting the story animation and artwork featured on each single cask release. Customers purchasing a bottle will receive a limited-edition print of their choice.

Characters from the animation appear on the eye-catching labels of the eight Fable expressions

This release builds on the success of Fable’s first collection, ‘The Legend of the Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay’, which debuted in 2021 and was inspired by a lost Scottish fable about a tragic piper and his dog.

The series unfolded in 11 chapters, each represented by a different whisky expression from both notable and lesser-known Scottish distilleries.

The collection’s artistic labels, illustrated by popular Bolivian artist Hugo Cuellar, helped establish the brand’s distinctive identity.

The cask releases for ‘The Lost Keepers of Flannan Isles’ have been hand-selected from distilleries including Linkwood, Glen Garioch, Dailuaine, Royal Brackla, Glen Elgin, Auchentoshan, Milton Duff and Strathmill.

The collection’s visually compelling artwork, bottles, packaging, labels and animations will enhance the narrative experience over eight chapters.

Under a strictly limited release, the first expressions will be restricted to around 250 bottles, presented at cask strength with no added colour and no chill filtration.

Through engaging narratives, detailed artwork and innovative whisky making, Fable Whisky elevates its product line-up into collectible pieces

The line-up will feature five new distillery makes and a phased series of six Blended Malt Scotch Whiskies, each revealing a different story ending.

A special single malt release, ‘The Lost Keepers’ will complement the collection alongside ‘The Pale Horse’, a blended malt batch release of 9,000 bottles. Crafted with Highland single malt aged for a minimum of eight years in ex-bourbon barrels and hogshead casks, ‘The Pale Horse’ offers a creamy, spiced profile with an oaky finish at 46.5% ABV.

Fable Whisky Co-Founder Calum Lawrie said, “It’s a wonderfully intriguing and at times dark and mysterious story that has captivated everyone on the Fable team and we have loved bringing it to life. We have uncovered some amazing casks and whiskies across an eclectic range of distilleries from Speyside and the Highlands to the Lowlands and we have a few surprises to bring to fans along the way.”

He added, “We are already in key global travel hubs and numerous high-end, prestigious specialist retailers across the globe and we recently moved into the Southeast Asia peninsular where we have been getting a lot of demand.

“When your whisky gets people really excited for what is inside the bottle, but also outside it – the look, the feel, the glorious artwork and storytelling – you know you are getting it right. We have had fans chasing us for Story II for the last six months, so this is another great moment for the Fable brand.” ✈
