After a pair of warm-up shows in Ohio, and a quick trip to London, Kim Deal began her solo tour on Thursday night at Norwalk, CT’s District Music Hall. She’s got a big band with her — Rob Bochnik (guitar), Susan Voelz (violin), Mando Lopez (bass), Lindsay Glover (drums), Nick White (keys), and Alison Chesley (cello) — and there were extra horns on hand as well, which come in handy for some of the more orchestral songs on her debut solo album, Nobody Loves You More. She played the album in full, followed by a set of Breeders and other solo songs.

NYC’s Hello Mary opened the show, and photos by Sachyn Mital of the whole night, plus a few fan-shot videos, are in this post.

Kim’s tour hits Asbury Park, NJ on Saturday (3/8) at The Stone Pony with Hello Mary, and next week she’ll play NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on March 12 and Brooklyn Paramount on 3/13 both of which are with Ratboys.
