Domino Kirke taps Angel Olsen for “It’s Not There” from new LP

NY-based artist and doula Domino Kirke (whose sisters are Jemima Kirke and Lola Kirke) has announced a new album, The Most Familiar Star, due out on April 18. She made it with Elliot Krimsky and Grizzly Bear‘s Chris Taylor, and says, “This whole album is about coming back to yourself and meeting you where you are. Pretty much every song addresses loss of self and later renewal. The core themes are grieving who you used to be pre-family, pre-marriage, and pre-parenthood and then reuniting with parts of yourself that you’d perhaps lost while trying to understand how the landscape of your life looks post-change.”

She’s shared a new single, the pretty, atmospheric “It’s Not There,” which features Angel Olsen and was built around a Sharon Van Etten sample. Watch the video, directed by Domino and choreographer Omri Drumlevich, below.
