Fountains of Wayne announce first shows since death of Adam Schlesinger

Fountains of Wayne have announced their first show since the death of co-founder Adam Schlesinger in the early days of COVID. It’s also their first show since 2013. (They did play pandemic livestream benefit Jersey 4 Jersey with Sharon Van Etten not long after Schlesinger’s passing.) Via Stereogum, part of Milwaukee Summerfest 2025, and the lineup of the band will be guitarist, frontman and FoW cofounder Chris Collingwood, longtime members Jody Porter and Brian Young, and Eve 6‘s Max Collins on bass (Schlesinger’s role in the band).

Their performance is part of the July 4 weekend of the three-weekend festival, and they play alongside MJ Lenderman, Social Distortion, Bully, Everclear, Porter Robinson, Babymetal, Phantom Planet, headliners The Lumineers and Benson Boone, and more.

Will there be more Fountains of Wayne shows? Stay tuned. UPDATE: They’ve announced a second festival date, at Oceans Calling 2025.
