“I Am Legend 2” & “Hancock 2” Are Coming

In a surprise appearance, actor Will Smith popped up on the xQc Twitch channel during a live stream and spoke about some upcoming projects he has in development.

First up, he confirms that the long-gestating “I Am Legend 2” is still happening, a film that will ignore the 2007 theatrical release ending in favor of the DVD ending where his character survives.

As previously reported, Michael B. Jordan is expected to co-star with Smith in the film, and the “King Richard” star said the pair recently went over the story:

“Me and Michael B. Jordan we sat down for about a week, just went through character stuff and Akiva Goldsman is the writer so he’s putting it together. That’s a real thing. I love to work with that dude, he really gets it.”

He also announced that a sequel to his 2008 superhero film “Hancock” is in the works, one based on a “really cool idea”. He adds that “Euphoria” actress Zendaya is being approached for a role in that film.

Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman co-starred in “Hancock” which starred Smith as an amnesiac, alcoholic, reckless superhero in Los Angeles. “I Am Legend” made $585 million and “Hancock” made $629.4 million, both from $150 million budgets each.
