Hamad International and Qatar Duty Free hail ‘World’s Best Airport Shopping’ win at Skytrax Awards
The accolade, its third consecutive win for ‘World’s Best Airport Shopping’ at Skytrax, reinforces Qatar Duty Free’s mission to elevate Doha as a world-class retail destination.
QATAR. Hamad International Airport (HIA) has hailed a third consecutive ‘World’s Best Airport Shopping’ Skytrax win, which marked a milestone for Qatar Duty Free (QDF).
HIA was also awarded Best Airport in the Middle East for the 11th consecutive year at the Skytrax 2025 Awards.
At the event held in Madrid, Spain, Hamad International also received the prestigious 5-star Airport Rating and was recognised as the Best Airport in the Middle East for the eleventh consecutive year {click here for the full Skytrax awards}.
The accolade underlines QDF’s commitment to transforming airport retail and putting Doha on the map as a global shopping destination.
The Skytrax recognition caps a record year for QDF. In 2024, the retailer opened more than 18 new outlets, ran standout campaigns with Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent and unveiled the new Concourse D & E retail zones. These additions brought 2,700sq m of contemporary shopping space to Hamad International’s retail portfolio.
Underpinning this is 36Q — a proprietary data-sharing and analytics platform launched in late 2024 and first revealed at the Trinity Forum 2024. By harnessing real-time passenger insights, 36Q enables personalised engagement and supports adaptive merchandising strategies, ensuring relevance across all customer segments.
In addition to the Skytrax honours, QDF retained its titles as Airport F&B Offer of the Year’ at the FAB Awards 2024 and ‘Airport Retailer of the Year’ at the Frontier Awards, each for the second consecutive year.
