‘Fucktoys’ Teaser – A Tarot-Inspired Bubblegum Grindhouse Odyssey Shot on 16mm

Shot on 16mm film, Fucktoys reimagines The Fool’s Journey of the Major Arcana of the Tarot as a bubblegum grindhouse odyssey.

Join AP, a rosy young woman seeking salvation from a curse, on an adventure through a dreamy landscape of smut, filth and psychics, where she collides with a series of larger-than-life characters and absurd situations as she winds her way towards the inevitable.

AP is promised by not just one but multiple psychics that her curse can be lifted for a cool $1,000 and a simple teeny tiny sacrifice of a baby lamb. So she makes money the only way she knows how: scootering her way deeper into the night and into the uncouth underbelly of Trashtown, USA.

The dark, campy romp explores the intersection of intimacy, exploitation, and class in a pre-millenium alternate universe; a rich collage of humid industrial landscapes and pastel cotton candy skies.

Actress Annapurna Sriram (“The Blacklist”) makes her feature writing and directorial debut. She also stars with Sadie Scott, Francois Arnaud, Big Freedia, Damian Young, and Brandon Flynn.

Currently seeking distribution, Fucktoys will make its east coast debut at Boston Underground Film Festival later this month.
