Friendship announce tour & share gorgeously slow indie rock song “All Over the World”
Friendship’s tour is with related band 2nd Grade on all dates, plus Philly and Brooklyn shows that also feature 22º Halo.

Friendship‘s Caveman Wakes Up is one of our most anticipated indie rock albums coming out this spring (their last album, 2022’s Love the Stranger, was one of our 50 favorites of that year), and today we get a second taste of it. New single “All Over the World” is at least as promising as lead single “Free Association”; it’s a climactic slow-burner and that titular refrain gets drilled into your head on the first listen. Bandleader Dan Wriggins says:
It’s about a guy in his 30s who works too many hours for a landscaping company, gets home every day, and all he can do is drink beer and watch TV and play video games, and he sees his life wasting away and feels bitter about it. But the song dwells on a brief moment of ecstasy, in which he feels life, connects to the world and forgets the world. Any resemblance to the past ten years of my life is purely coincidental!
Dan just wrapped up a solo tour, and “All Over the World” is one of the new Friendship songs that he previewed when we saw him at the BrooklynVegan SXSW day party at Mohawk on Saturday (3/15). He played acoustic, accompanied just by an upright bassist, and he sounded great in that stripped-back format, as you can hear for yourself if you head to our Instagram stories before the video disappears. Check out the new Friendship song below.
With Dan’s solo tour wrapped up, Friendship announced their own lengthy tour for this summer. All dates are with 2nd Grade (whose main member Peter Gill also plays pedal steel in Friendship), and the Philly and Brooklyn shows are with both 2nd Grade and 22º Halo. The Brooklyn show is on July 18 at Baby’s All Right. Tickets for all newly-added dates go on sale Friday (3/21). All dates are listed below.
