Darren Lynn Bousman Teases ‘Saw II’ 4K Restoration

Although the future of the Saw franchise remains unclear, it’s never game over for Billy the Puppet.

“Very cool stuff in the works from my friends Lionsgate,” Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, and Spiral director Darren Lynn Bousman wrote on Instagram. “Crazy to be looking back and rewatching Saw stuff decades later.”

With the series’ second installment celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and Bousman tagging post-production house FotoKem in the photo, it’s likely that a 4K restoration of Saw II is in the works.

The original Saw made its way to 4K Ultra HD back in 2021, but the sequels have yet to be upgraded. Perhaps we’ll get a box set with all 10 installments.

Written by Bousman and franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell, Saw II follows a group of ex-convicts forced to pass a series of deadly tests by the Jigsaw Killer.
