D4vd Knows He’s No Benson Boone, Cops to Failed Backflip During Coachella Set: ‘Humiliation Ritual Complete’
The performer later posted clips perfecting the move for next weekend's set.

Sometimes you just have to go for it. And sometimes when you do that, things go horribly wrong. But, if you’re like d4vd, you can laugh at yourself and not get too hung up on the particulars. During the 20-year-old “Feel It” singer’s set at the Coachella Festival on Friday, he got super hyped and ran from the front of the stage toward the drum riser, planted his feet on the edge of it and then launched into a back flip.
Except he didn’t achieve escape velocity and instead of elegantly going head over heels he stalled out mid-flip and came crashing down on his side in a humiliating face plant in front of a packed house. Compared to the impressive flips pulled off by fellow Coachella performer Benson Boone this weekend during his headlining set, d4vd’s flip failure was, in his own words, embarrassing.
“Humiliation ritual complete,” the singer born David Anthony Burke wrote on Saturday in an X post featuring an image of a peace-seeking dog with its eyes closed. “see u next week coachella i love u.” He also offered up another clip from his set in which he did pull off an impressive capoeira-style side flip, writing, “GOT UP AND GOT DA AURA RIGHT BACK HO LMAOOO FUN SET FUN MF SET.”
And because he can’t stop, won’t stop, d4vd posted a video on Sunday (April 13) in which he pulled off the stunt he attempted during his set, captioned “training for the next one [crying laughing emoji]. D4vd’s debut album, Withered, is slated for release on April 25.
