Cueva Curates a Cozy Vibe in Renovated Subterranean West Village Store
West Village menswear imprint Cueva closed its doors just a few weeks ago for a full-scale renovation. The tucked-away Christopher Street clothing store – one of the only brick-and-mortars in the city that stocks Our Legacy – is once again back in business at the same historic location with a brand-new set-up."Same address, new energy" was how the brand put it on Instagram, debuting a clean and cozy new design at the same subterranean location. Cueva's curator and owner, Justin Fellizzari, worked in close conjunction with Juntos Projects to curate the new space, seeking to "mirror the eclectic mix of international brands the store is known for" in the interior design. Ranging from Copenhagen to Japan, just some of the brands stocked in-store include 032c, A Kind of Guise, Engineered Garments, NN.07, Metalwood Studio and N. HOOLYWOOD."Cueva is designed to feel like a discovery—an unexpected treasure tucked away beneath the West Village, much like the brands it carries," explains a press release. With a conversation-encouraging custom-built seating nook on one side, community is at the core of the new Cueva store. While imbued with a refreshed new energy, the new space subtly pays homage to the former facade, with the original store's painting hanging atop the conversation nook. Airy almond walls line the interior with striking sky blue-walled fitting rooms nestled in the back of the store.Take a closer look at the new Cueva interior in the gallery above and stop by now at the address below.86 Christopher StreetNew York, New York10014Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
