Avengers: Doomsday/Secret Wars Rumors Including Doom’s Motivations | Barside Buzz

We have some Avengers: Doomsday/Secret Wars rumors on the Barside Buzz today, including some claims of Doctor Doom’s motivations. The information comes from TCC‘s Alex Perez in his latest Q&A. I don’t normally cover Alex’s Q&A’s because they rarely amount to more than suggestions or speculation.

However, this time there are some claims of knowledge from Alex on certain plot elements. Let’s start with what Alex claims are Doom’s motivations. This is not everything Alex had to say, to check the link above if you want to see the full Q&A.

‘Doom wants to stop the incursions from happening and stop the multiverse from entirely collapsing on itself. In a way, he’s technically a hero (in his eyes and the eyes of his followers), kind of like how Thanos saw himself as the hero in Infinity War. I think people will have a better time processing this movie if they stopped thinking of Doom as the ultimate villain meant to swap out Kang at the last minute, and more as the antagonist who thinks he is the hero, and is pissed at He Who Remains for essentially “silencing” his universe as well as every other universe/timeline that didn’t correspond to the Sacred Timeline, and wants nothing more than to “take the reins of his timeline and win his freedom”.’

Alex also claims that Loki, God of Timelines is the movie’s McGuffin.

‘He’ll be our McGuffin. The race against Doomsday will be a race to see who gets to Loki first.’

Finally, for our coverage, Alex says Marvel still intends to release a movie in November of 2026. I went through a small late of what we know in the related article above yesterday. For now I left out that November, 2026 slot because I can’t see them using it. Alex thinks differently.

‘Currently, we have Spider-Man 4, coming out on July 31st, 2026, and then we have an untitled film coming on November 6th, 2026. When speaking to sources, Marvel was eyeing the November 2026 film to be a sequel; the two options being Black Panther 3 and Shang-Chi 2, with Black Panther 3 being the more likely of the duo, but that could have changed.’

I can’t see Destin Daniel Cretton making Spider-Man 4 and Shang-Chi 2 back to back folks. Maybe BP3, but I’ll still be surprised if any Marvel movies hits November, 2026.
