Alien Boy announce new album ‘You Wanna Fade?,’ share “Changes”

Portland, OR’s Alien Boy have announced a new album, You Wanna Fade?, due May 9 via Get Better Records (pre-order). Speaking about the album, vocalist/guitarist Sonia Weber said, “I was looking at the records that I turn to the most–Third Eye Blind’s self-titled and Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream. I really wanted to capture that kind of grandness, the kind of thing that has a lot of dimension and isn’t actually that concise.”

You can definitely hear the Third Eye Blind S/T and Siamese Dream influence coming through in the catchy, grungy lead single “Changes,” which coats the big ’90s rock vibes in a modern lo-fi exterior. The album was recorded a handful of collaborators (Andy Rusinek, Phil Jones, Nathan Tucker, and the band’s own Caleb Misclevitz) and then handed off to Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Jeff Rosenstock, etc) for mixing and mastering.
