Insomniac Games has responded to fans who’ve been aggressively demanding Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 news and updates. The developer has reiterated that it’ll only reveal information about game when the team is ready, and won’t divulge anything under pressure.
Insomniac Games will drop Wolverine PS5 news on its own terms
In response to a tweet about Spider-Man 2 PC port, a follower criticized the studio for “ignoring” PS5 players clamouring for news about Wolverine. “Such a great team,” they sarcastically added.
It’s unlike Insomniac Games to respond to tweets like this, but its social media team decided to address this one.
“We’ll share news about the game when we are ready to share it,” Insomniac Games responded, with an emphasis on “we.” “That will always be our answer. We can’t act on everything requested when things take time, resources, and the greenlight to share them.”
Insomniac Games did re-confirm, however, that it’s “actively” working on Wolverine.
Insomniac Games suffered a massive ransomware attack towards the end of 2023, as a result of which a significant portion of Wolverine’s alpha footage leaked online. The studio expressed its heartbreak over the leak, but stressed that the hack has had no impact on the game’s development or reveal plans.
Marvel’s Wolverine was announced in September 2021 but there have been no meaningful updates since. Lengthy development times have become a norm in the games industry, so it might be a while before we see some proper gameplay.
