What is Fujifilm Planning to Announce at its Upcoming Fujifilm X Summit This Year?
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to cover it in person in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, this year. However, we’re excited to see what Fujifilm will reveal at its Fujifilm X Summit in the historic city.Past Fujifilm X Summits have seen the announcements of some exciting cameras like the Fujifilm X-M5 and lenses like the Fujifilm 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR II, but as of right now there doesn’t appear to be any official word from Fujifilm about what might be in the cards for this year’s event… or does it?Here’s what we do know about the Fujifilm X Summit set to take place on March 20th, 2025 in Prague.Fujifilm X Summit in PragueTo tease the Fujifilm X Summit this year, Fujifilm has dropped a short teaser video that simply invites fans, attendees, and interested viewers to stay tuned for this year’s event on March 20th. However, as you can clearly see in the short video, we do get a glimpse of what appears to be a camera silhouette towards the end of the clip. It’s not a lot to go on, but it’s enough to send some Fujifilm fans spinning into conspiracy theories as to what this new camera might be—or what else might be in store to be revealed at the event this year.A New Fujifilm Camera?Obviously, the only teasing detail we have is this shadowed image of a camera. As others have pointed out online, it does appear that this looks more like a GFX camera rather than a new X series camera. We can see two front control dials towards the front grip and perhaps two more dials on the top of the camera near the shutter release. Speculators seem pretty convinced this might be a new GFX series model with a 35mm lens the same size as an X series model. However, it’s hard to take anything scientific away from a teaser video that could just be using any random camera outline to tease the event. To find out what Fujifilm actually has in store, stay tuned for March 20th as we’ll cover the news as it’s announced.
