Playboi Carti played his long-awaited third studio album ‘Music’ for the first time at Rolling Loud California last weekend, with The Weeknd making a guest appearance.

‘Music’ was released after numerous delays. It features a 30-song tracklist with guest spots from the likes of Travis Scott, Future, The Weeknd, Ty Dolla $ign, and Young Thug.
His frequent collaborator Lil Uzi Vert also appears on ‘Jumpin’ and ‘Twin Trim’ – their first collaborations in seven years since their 2018 track ‘Shooters’. He also teamed up with Skepta and Kendrick Lamar for the first time, with Lamar featuring on ‘Mojo Jojo’, ‘Backdoor’ and ‘Good Credit’.
In a four-star review of ‘Music’, NME wrote: “‘Die Lit’ flexed Carti’s eclecticism. ‘Whole Lotta Red’ was conceptually bold (even if it needed a few runs to click). ‘Music’, though, amplifies his unrelenting vision to new extremes. For nearly a decade, Carti’s been a step ahead, dragging rap into the future and leaving everyone else scrambling to catch up. From underground hero to untouchable force, Playboi Carti cements his spot as rap’s feral frontrunner.”
In other news, Kanye West disapproved of Lamar’s features on ‘Music’ in a recent tweet.
