Tickets for 26th Annual BLOBFEST in Phoenixville, PA Now Up for Grabs!

Every year, the historic Colonial Theatre on 227 Bridge Street in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania pays tribute to horror classic The Blob with Blobfest – the theater, after all, was prominently featured in the classic 1950s movie starring Steve McQueen! –  and tickets for this year’s upcoming 26th annual Blobfest are now officially up for grabs this afternoon.

Running July 11 – 13, this year’s theme is “Camp Blobfest,” promising an outrageously over-the-top festival experience filled with nostalgia, thrills, and larger-than-life fun.

Grab your tickets to the 26th annual Blobfest right now! These events tend to sell out within a few days, so if you’re planning on attending, make sure you secure them as soon as possible.

The three-day festival of ghoulishly gooey fun pays homage to the theatre’s starring role in the 1958 classic Steve McQueen film, The Blob. Phoenixville’s favorite movie monster oozed into town more than 60 years ago after the Colonial Theater was featured in the famous 1958 film during a scene where a large crowd runs out of the theatre to escape the renowned blob. Since then, the Colonial has celebrated the film and all things sci-fi horror for a quarter century.

Highlights for “Camp Blobfest” include a Saturday street fair, the “Blob Ball,” a Saturday night screening and “run-out” activation, a short film contest, costume contest, 5k/10k/half marathon, and so much more. Head over to the official website to learn more about the event.

One of the region’s premiere non-profit arts organizations, The Colonial Theatre (227 Bridge Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460), is situated in the heart of downtown Phoenixville. The iconic theatre, a donor and member-supported institution, operates three distinct venues and multiple event spaces in two adjoining historic buildings. Known internationally as the mother of Blobfest, which annually celebrates the theatre’s role in the 1958 sci-fi classic, The Blob, The Colonial attracts more than 70,000 patrons per year to its eclectic programming of popular, new movies, beloved film favorites, live music, comedy, and community events.
