‘The Terminator Live’ tour coming to the UK this year

The Terminator Live, a concert performance of the classic 1984 James Cameron film, has announced a UK tour for October and November of this year.

The show has been a hit in the US, and comes to Britain for the first time for four dates in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, and finally London. Venue Presales start Wednesday March 19 at 10am, AEG Presents + Venue Presale begins Thursday March 20 at 10am, while General Sale opens Friday March 21, also at 10am.

Considered a masterpiece of the Science Fiction genre, The Terminator starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in his breakout role of the T-800 or Terminator, a human-like machine sent back in time to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), who would become the mother of the man destined to lead humanity in its fight against a machine uprising.

The film has had fives sequels, most notably 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day, as well as numerous TV and video game spin-offs. The film has been featured on numerous greatest lists over the years, and in 2008 was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.

In a press release, the live show is described as “signature synthesiser-led, percussive score performed in sync with the iconic 1984 film presented on a vast HD screen”.

Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at AEG Presents described it as: “not just a screening—it’s a full-throttle, pulse-pounding cinematic experience, with the legendary Avex Ensemble performing Brad Fiedel’s iconic score live as the action unfolds”.

“From the haunting synth melodies to the explosive, relentless beats of the taiko drums, this is The Terminator like you’ve never heard—or felt—before. Fans of the film, sci-fi lovers, and live music enthusiasts alike, get ready for an unforgettable night”.

Despite universal acclaim from fans and critics, Cameron called the film “cringeworthy” in “parts” last year while celebrating the film’s 40th Anniversary.
