‘The Bear’ star Matty Matheson announces UK and European tour in support of new cookbook

The Bear star Matty Matheson has announced a new UK and European tour in support of his latest cookbook – see the dates below.

Matheson plays Neil Fak in the acclaimed FX show, the loyal handyman at the titular restaurant and the longtime friend of the Berzatto family. He also serves as an executive producer on the show, lending his expertise as a successful food writer and chef.

The upcoming tour comes in support of his latest publication, Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, which was released in late 2024. The live shows are described as “part discussion of his cookbook, part motivational speech, part exclusive sneak peak into his life and creative vision”.

The dates kick off on May 27 in Copenhagen and take in Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London’s Hackney Empire, Manchester and Dublin, before rounding things off in Belfast’s Ulster Hall on June 6. Tickets are on sale now and available here.

Announcing the dates on his Instagram, Matheson has said: “I heard you and I am here for you. It’s been a minute since we’ve been together and I want to give y’all a sneaky peak into what I do, like how do I do what I do?! I am going to show you the magical insanity of creating my latest cookbook, Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, maybe entice you with a little project that you may or may not be interested in a third season of and lift the veil of MATTY’S WORLD.”

All dates on the tour will see Matheson joined by his The Bear co-star Ricky Staffieri, who plays his character’s brother Teddy, with the pair often offering much needed comic relief amid the high-tension narrative of the show.

Matty Matheson will appear at:

MAY
27 – Copenhagen, Amager Bio
30 – Amsterdam, Meervaart
31 – Edinburgh, TBD

JUNE
1 – Glasgow, Glee
3 – London, Hackney Empire
4 – Manchester, Academy
5 – Dublin, Vicar St.
6 – Belfast, Ulster Hall

Elsewhere, Matheson recently announced the launch of his new hardcore band, Pig Pen, which he fronts alongside Alexisonfire guitarist Wade MacNeil.

The band also shared a snippet of a song and a clip of its music video, and have also announced their debut show, which will take place on April 25 at Sneaky Dee’s in Toronto, Canada.

In a four-star review of The Bear‘s third season, James Mottram wrote for NME: “Cracking along with its usual mix of slow-burns and fast-spurts, the balance in season three is just right. From Marcus poignantly delivering the eulogy at his mother’s funeral to Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) dealing with her father as she settles on a new place to live to the pregnancy of Carmy’s sister Natalie (Abby Elliott), everyone gets a moment or two to shine. Once again, The Bear has come out of the oven baked to perfection; its pursuit of excellence puts other shows to shame.”
