Tomb Raider
Reports of the death of Amazon’s live-action “Tomb Raider” TV series have been greatly exaggerated, it would seem. Speaking with Polygon, a representative for production company Story Kitchen has shot down the talk of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s in development series being scrapped, saying: “The show is not dead and still tracking forward.”

The Holdovers
Buried within an article about Miramax’s post-Weinstein makeover, its been revealed that Alexander Payne’s Oscar-winning 2023 boarding school drama feature “The Holdovers” will be getting a TV serie adaptation. It’s presently not clear if Payne will be involved and what it will be (ie. a sequel, remake, etc.”). [Source: Variety]

Trek + Spongebob
Paramount+ has released its newest brand marketing campaign advertisement, this one delivering a mashup of “Spongebob Squarepants” and “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”.

The clip sees Spock (Ethan Peck), Captain Pike (Anson Mount), and Uhura (Celia Rose-Gooding) joined on the Patrick Starship Enterprise by SpongeBob SquarePants, Sandy Cheeks, and Mr. Krabs. Fans can also look out for a quick voice cameo from “Lower Decks” alum Jack Quaid.

Lilo & Stitch
Disney has released a new 30-second TV spot for its live-action “Lilo & Stitch” film that reimagines the story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family.

Maia Kealo, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis star in the film which opens in cinemas May 23rd.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
Paramount Pictures has unveiled fifteen character posters for next month’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” with the one-sheets showcasing not just major returning actors like Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg, but minor ones as well.

Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Tramell Tillman, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Rolf Saxon, Lucy Tulugarjuk and Angela Bassett also score their own one-sheets though the likes of Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Charles Parnell, and Mark Gatiss don’t seem to have. The film itself opens May 23rd in cinemas.
