Warner Bros. Discovery has officially announced a May 13th digital release date for its highly popular “A Minecraft Movie,” the title launching next Tuesday as a PVOD release ahead of a more regular digital and disc release on June 24th.
The release will be packed with special features including multiple featurettes featuring a ton of behind-the-scenes footage. The clips focus on the world, the music, the creatures, the cast chemistry, and one Matt Berry-voiced bit about the Marlene + Nitwit relationship. [Source: WBD]
Ripped
20th Century Studios has picked up the rights to Joe Ballarini’s fitness horror short story “Ripped” with Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks production company set to produce alongside 12:01 Films. Johnson is not currently attached to star, only produce with Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, but there is a character in the script he may be suitable for.
The story follows an insecure man who, in anticipation of his wedding day, enters a hardcore underground training facility led by a magnetic fitness guru. Said guru commands cult like devotion with the promise of peak performance at any cost. Ballarini is set to adapt his short story while Scott Glassgold also produces. [Source: THR]
How to Rob a Bank
Amazon MGM Studios has set a September 4th 2026 release date for the David Leitch-directed crime action thriller “How to Rob a Bank” starring Pete Davidson, Anna Sawai and Nicholas Hoult. The trio play bank robbers who share their heists on social media while eluding the police. Leitch will direct from a screenplay by executive producer Mark Bianculli. [Source: Deadline]
Star Wars + Destiny 2
Bungie has revealed the teaser trailer for “Renegades,” am original story inspired by “Star Wars” for a new season of content for “Destiny 2”. It’s the second half of the ‘Year of Prophecy’ for the game with the first half, ‘The Edge of Fate,’ launching July 14th and “Renegades” debuting December 2nd.
