Kae Tempest has announced a huge tour of the UK and Europe for October and November this year – see all the dates below.
The rapper, poet and playwright announced his fifth studio album, which will be self-titled, at the end of last month. It is set to be released on July 4 via Island Records, and has been co-produced by Fraser T Smith (Adele, Stormzy, Dave). The record will also feature the likes of Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant, Young Fathers and Connie Constance.
Last March, Tempest shared the striking lead single ‘Statue in the Square’, and that has since been joined by the celebratory ‘Know Yourself’.
On Thursday (May 8), Tempest revealed the accompanying tour on his Instagram. Dates will kick off on October 12 in Brussels’ Bozar, while Tempest will arrive in the UK for a huge show at O2 Academy Brixton in London on November 8. Shows then follow in Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh, before wrapping in Dublin on November 13. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on May 16 and you can find yours here.
“We’re going on tour!” Tempest wrote. “Come see us. I’ll be bringing the new songs to life, weaving them in with the old songs to make a new show. Up there on stage in front of you, playing live feels like a conjuring of mutual feeling; it’s so powerful and healing and deeply connected. And also these songs are bangers. So there’s that too!”

Tempest recently spoke to NME about the new album and the responsibility he feels as a non binary person in the public eye. “It’s not like I feel the weight of a responsibility,” he said. “It was important for me to show up for my community, to show up for myself being a trans man and a non binary person. These are just crucial elements of my make-up.
“If I’m being celebratory and honest and uncompromising about expressing myself, there’s some freedom that will come in terms of other people’s own feelings about what they may not feel comfortable expressing amongst friends, family or in public.”
Tempest’s last full-length release was 2022’s ‘The Line Is a Curve‘. In a four-star review of the album, NME described ‘The Line Is A Curve’ as “frequently dazzling”. “The process of letting go has resulted in a record on which an acclaimed voice can explore human emotion with more breadth and depth than ever before,” it read.
