Mette Engell named Coty Senior Vice President, Global Travel Retail as Guilhem Souche departs
The highly regarded Mette Engell is charged with elevating the travel retail experience for beauty lovers. She replaces the much-respected Guilhem Souche.

Mette Engell has been appointed Senior Vice President, Global Travel Retail at US beauty house Coty. She was formerly the company’s Senior Vice President of Europe A.
Earlier in her nearly nine-year career with Coty, Engell was General Manager Luxury Australia & New Zealand (October 2016-August 2019) and then Managing Director for the same countries until April 2022 when she assumed the Europe A role.
Before joining Coty, Engell had spent almost 21 years in various senior positions with Parfums Christian Dior.
She replaces Guilhem Souche who is leaving the company having filled the role with great distinction since September 2022.
He joined Coty in February 2020 where, until his travel retail role, he held senior posts as Greater China General Manager Luxury Division and later China Managing Director and Legal Representative.
Earlier, Souche spent almost seven years in senior roles with LVMH-owned Parfums Christian Dior. Before that he held numerous executive positions with L’Oréal for nearly 18 years.
Commenting on Engell’s appointment, Coty said, “With more than 30 years’ experience in the beauty industry, Mette has brought a strategic vision to Coty since joining in 2016.
“Most recently, she successfully led the Europe A region, where she strengthened key retailer partnerships and drove growth across complex markets.
“In her new role, Mette’s leadership will be essential to expanding our global footprint and elevating the travel retail experience for beauty lovers worldwide.”
Souche is known to be seeking a position (inside or outside the beauty sector) in Europe or the Middle East.
His tremendous brand-building experience in China adds further lustre to the excellent reputation he has built in travel retail and local markets.
