Matt Pinfield “slowly but surely recovering” from stroke, hosting Green Day’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling

Broadcaster and onetime MTV 120 Minutes host Matt Pinfield has shared an update on his recovery from the stroke he suffered in early January. He took to Instagram on Friday, “Slowly but surely recovering..lots of physical therapy..Fighting my way back!! One day at a time.”

Pinfield was released from the ICU in March, sharing a statement: ““Guys, I’m alive. I’m recovering and am going to come back swinging. I was unresponsive for two months. Friends were thinking they were coming to see me for the last time. The doctors never expected me to speak or to walk again.”

The Instagram post on Friday was of a news clipping announcing that he would be hosting the unveiling ceremony of Green Day‘s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 1. Actor / cellphone mogul Ryan Reynolds and tennis great Serena Williams will be guest speakers and the ceremony will stream live via the Walk of Fame website on 5/1 at 11:30 AM Pacific / 2:30 PM Eastern and the star will be located at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard which is, appropriately, right by Amoeba Music.
