Watch Acid Bath play their first show in 28 years (video & setlist)

Louisiana sludge metal legends Acid Bath are back and just began their first tour in 28 years with a hometown-area show at New Orleans’ Fillmore on Friday night (4/25) with support from fellow Louisiana sludge vets Eyehategod. The lineup for these shows finds vocalist Dax Riggs, guitarist Sammy “Pierre” Duet, and guitarist Mike Sanchez joined by Sammy’s Goatwhore bandmate Zack Simmons on drums and Dax’s Agents of Oblivion bandmate Alex Bergeron on bass, and they powered through a 10-song set that pulled from their two full-length albums, 1994’s When the Kite String Pops and 1996’s Paegan Terrorism Tactics. According to Setlist.fm, this show marked the first-known performance of “Dead Girl,” and the band dedicated “Scream of the Butterfly” to original Acid Bath bassist Audie Pitre, whose 1997 death led to the band’s breakup. Acid Bath’s reunion tour will include festival appearances at Sonic Temple, Inkcarceration Louder Than Life, Aftershock, and the Denver edition of Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest, and they play NYC shows on July 11 and 25 at Brooklyn Paramount with support from Eyehategod and Wailin’ Storms on 7/11 and Pentagram and King Parrot on 7/25.

Before all of that, Acid Bath will hit The Fillmore in New Orleans again on 4/30 with support from fellow hometown heroes Exhorder, and they also have upcoming dates with High On Fire, YOB, Windhand, Weedeater, Pig Destroyer, The Obsessed, and more. All upcoming dates are listed below.
