The last weekend of April is often a fairly quiet one at the box-office – but not this year as three major titles dominated the domestic charts.

Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” remained on top in its second weekend, the Southern vampire tale is tracking for a $42 million Friday-Sunday haul – a drop of just 13% from its $48 million debut.

That’s the second-best weekend for an R-rated horror movie, and the second best hold for a R-rated horror movie behind only “Heart Eyes” which gained 19%, and above “Get Out” which dropped 15%.

The next three slots are going to be contested between three quite different titles. Amazon MGM Studios’ “The Accountant 2” looks to take second place with an opening coming in at a $25 million, just above the starting weekend of the original. The sequel landed a solid ‘A-‘ CinemaScore from audiences (the original was an ‘A’),

Coming in third will be the re-release of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” for its 20th anniversary, the title pulling in anywhere from $21-23 million. The film could overtake the 1997 “The Empire Srrikes Back: Special Edition” release, a title which earned $21.9 million in its debut.

Then in fourth is “A Minecraft Movie” which is headed for a fourth weekend of around $20 million. Fifth will be Screen Gems’ R-rated high-concept horror movie “Until Dawn” with the game-to-film adaptation getting a C+ CinemaScore from audiences. and will take in $7-8 million in its opening weekend.
