Live-Action “Snow White” ‘Legacy’ Featurette

Disney Pictures has released a new poster and featurette for its upcoming live-action remake of “Snow White,” the clip focusing on the legacy of the landmark 1937 animated classic film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” which inspired the new movie.

The film’s director Marc Webb says the production’s goal was always to honor the original film before adding: “We’re extremely grateful to the team of amazing artists – from puppeteers to voice actors and motion capture technicians – for bringing these magical, charming characters to life in such a unique way.”

The featurette includes clips from the final film along with behind-the-scenes footage of the production. The news comes as the film appeared on early tracking with box-office estimates being a domestic opening weekend in the $63-70 million range.

That’s a little concerning as the film’s reported budget stands at around $250 million or higher, but those projections are also early and could go higher. They also don’t include international which is expected to fare well.

The film stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen and Andrew Burnap as Jonathan along with seven ‘fantastical being’ companions who are CG mo-cap creations made to resemble the dwarfs of the original story.

Erin Cressida Wilson wrote the film which features all-new original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and an original score composed by Jeff Morrow.
