If you love the original Jurassic Park, Jurassic World Rebirth is the movie for you — so says the new featurette below.
“It harkens back to the first film. It’s a survival story,” says Scarlett Johansson. “We’ve really gone back to basics to imagine yourself in this circumstance on this Jurassic island.”
“I know that it will bring back the wonder of seeing Jurassic for the first time,” adds Jonathan Bailey.
“It will have a lot of humor and it will be fun, but it also has a lot of very scary, very intense moments,” teases director Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Godzilla).
Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp returned to pen the script, which incorporates a raft sequence from Michael Crichton‘s original novel that didn’t make it into the 1993 film.
Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.
Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein round out the cast.
From executive producer Steven Spielberg, Jurassic World Rebirth opens on July 2 from Universal.
