Jonathan Majors Admits to Strangling Ex-Girlfriend in Newly Released Audio

Jonathan Majors admitted that he “aggressed” his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in a newly released audio clip, in which she further states the “Magazine Dreams” star “strangled” her during a confrontation.

“I’m ashamed I’ve ever–” Majors can be heard saying in the audio, which was obtained and released Monday by Rolling Stone. “I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you.”

“You strangled me and pushed me against the car,” Jabbari cuts in.

“Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah.” Majors responds. “That’s never happened to me.”

“Because I said something sarcastically, in your eyes?” Jabbari asks.

“Well, clearly, it’s more than that,” Majors says.

“Something inside of you,” Jabbari then clarifies.

“Yeah, towards you,” Majors responds. The recording stops after that.

Per Rolling Stone, the conversation between the two took place in September 2022, following an extended disagreement between the former pair. At the time, Majors was living with Jabbari in London while he was filming Season 2 of Disney+’s “Loki.” The details of the incident appear to line up with Jabbari’s now-settled civil suit against Majors in which she claimed Majors slammed her into a car and dragged her back into their home where he allegedly strangled her.

Back in November 2024, Jabbari dropped her defamation, assault and battery lawsuit against Majors that she’d filed in March 2024. Her reason for dropping the lawsuit has not been made public, and it is not known if any settlement was reached. But in a joint statement confirming the end of the lawsuit, filed in the U.S. Southern District court of New York, Jabbari and Majors’ attorneys said that they will each cover their own legal costs.

“IT IS HEREBY STIPULATED AND AGREED by and between Plaintiff Grace Jabbari and Defendant Jonathan Majors, through their undersigned attorneys, that all claims against Defendant in the above-captioned action are hereby dismissed with prejudice, pursuant to Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(a)(1)(A)(ii), and each party will bear its own costs and attorneys’ fees,” the statement read.

Still, Majors was convicted in December 2023 for misdemeanor reckless assault and harassment. In April, he was sentenced to participate in a one-year domestic violence program and avoided jail time. He was also ordered to continue therapy sessions and update the court on his progress. Judge Michael Gaffey cited Majors’ lack of a criminal history as a factor in the decision.

The audio comes just as Majors’ latest film “Magazine Dreams” is set to premiere in theaters on Friday.
