Add Jimmy Fallon to the long list of people questioning Donald Trump’s strategy around Canada. During Thursday’s “The Tonight Show” monologue, the NBC host played a portion of a recent interview of President Trump where he said the country would be “so perfect as a great and cherished state.”

In the same interview, Trump said that he wanted to “keep” “Oh, Canada,” the national anthem of the nation of Canada. “But it will be for the state, one of our greatest states,” Trump continued.

“It’s stuff like this that makes people question his state,” Fallon said after raising his eyebrow.

Fallon also mocked Trump for saying that there was already a perfect artificial “line” between the northern country and the U.S. similar to the lines used to divide states. “People are like, ‘What about the artificial line between the U.S. and Mexico?’ and Trump’s like, ‘No that one’s real. There’s half a wall on that one,'” Fallon said.

The NBC late night host also took a couple of cracks at the U.S. government, which is on the edge of a possible shutdown. If Congress does not approve legislation that will extend federal funding by early Saturday, federal agencies will be forced to cease all functions. “Canada was like, ‘Aw, if you guys want you can be our 11th providence,'” Fallon joked.

He also highlighted how serious this shutdown could be with another zinger, adding, “Our government could stop functioning. It’s big news because apparently our government has been functioning.”
