McLEAN, VA – The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2025 Mike Dimond Student Career Success Grant, an annual initiative created to support the next generation of hospitality leaders pursuing careers in commercial strategy. Named in honor of Mike Dimond, one of the hospitality industry’s most respected marketing executives, the grant provides aspiring professionals with financial support, access to industry thought leadership, and a dedicated mentorship experience with a seasoned executive.

A member of the HSMAI Hall of Fame and recognized as one of “The 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality & Travel,” Mike Dimond is best known for his impactful tenure as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. His legacy of leadership and innovation in hotel marketing is widely acknowledged throughout the industry. Established by his family, this grant supports degree-seeking students who demonstrate a strong commitment to building careers in hospitality.

In 2025, two Career Success Grants will be awarded. Each grant includes:

  • A $2,000 academic development grant
  • Complimentary registration to one HSMAI conference of the recipient’s choosing
  • A one-year mentorship with a hospitality industry leader

“The Mike Dimond Grant not only honors the legacy of an exceptional leader but also plays a vital role in building talent for commercial strategy roles across the hospitality industry,” said Brian Hicks, CEO and President of HSMAI. “We’re proud to offer this opportunity to students who are passionate about shaping the future of hospitality.”

Applicants must be enrolled in a degree-seeking hospitality program and demonstrate a clear interest in a career in hospitality sales, marketing, revenue management, or distribution. Selection will be based on academic achievement, industry experience, and a written statement outlining career aspirations. All applications must include a completed form, resume, and written statement.

The application deadline is May 7, 2025. Submissions will be reviewed by the HSMAI Foundation Board of Directors.
