The Canadian artist (real name Claire Boucher) shares three children with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO: X Æ A-Xii (aka Lil X), Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, and Techno Mechanicus (aka Tau).
The former couple announced their split in September 2021, confirming that they had broken up after three years together but “still love each other”. Following Donald Trump’s US Presidential election win last November, Musk was appointed by the POTUS to lead his new Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Since then, the couple’s children have increasingly been in the public eye. In February, Grimes hit out at the tech billionaire for parading Lil X around the Oval Office in the White House as Trump signed an executive order to bolster DOGE’s powers in government.

Grimes then responded: “I unfortunately do not control the internet and cannot wipe this from the internet. I have tried begging the public and my kids dad to keep them offline, and I’ve tried legal recourse.”
She went on to say: “The state of my children’s lives being public is of grave concern to me and I think about how to solve this every day. It’s insane to me that theres no way to deal with this . I would hope there was some law that would allow a parent to veto small children from living public lives but I don’t even trust the law to help me now if I tried to invoke it tbh.
