Fujifilm Teases New Mystery Camera That’s “Half the Size, Twice the Story”
Teased with a short 19-second video that shows very, very little about what this mysterious new camera might be, the official Fujifilm X Series YouTube account is certainly letting us know that something big (or, I guess, small) is on the way.Even for a teaser video, there are very few details to share. Previous teaser vids have at least let viewers know some basic facts. Or, at the very least, let us know a date when more will be revealed.Sadly, for this teaser, all we know is what you can see in the video. It’s a new camera, it’s half the size, and it's twice the story. Here’s the best we can figure.New Mystery Fujifilm CameraThe most notable aspect of this mystery has to do with the size and the outline of the silhouetted image of this new Fujifilm product. As others online have pointed out, this new camera does appear to look similar to the X100 line of cameras, most notably resembling the Fujifilm X100VI, which has proven to be one of the most popular point-and-shoot cameras on the market since its release. However, there are some discrepancies between the X100VI and what this new camera might offer, most of which are focused on the placement of the viewfinder, which appears to be more in the center, more similar to the Fujifilm X-T5 camera. The other major detail, albeit not really a clue per se, is that we see a “Provia” icon, which is most likely indicating that whatever this new camera is, it will feature Film Simulation modes as found with other recent Fujifilm cameras. What’s Next for This Mystery Camera? That’s pretty much all that we can suss out about this new mystery camera. We’re not even truly sure what it’s half the size of, as that size could refer to a lot of different camera bodies and types. What we do know is that we’re always excited about new cameras and improvements in film and video gear. Fujifilm has released some very popular and highly reviewed cameras over the past few years, so we have little doubt that this won’t be just as exciting and popular once more details are shared. Until then, stay tuned and we’ll update you when more details are officially shared.
