The lounge’s design features Japanese and Turkish cultural touches. The facility includes dedicated VIP rooms for exclusivity and privacy, and spacious showers.

Its food & beverage set-up features a high-quality buffet service, offering a fusion of Turkish and Japanese cuisines. Among the highlights is oven-cooked Turkish speciality pide (a savoury flatbread formed into a boat-like shape with a variety of fillings).

Guests attending the lounge’s inauguration ceremony included TAV Airports Chairman of ExCom Franck Mereyde; TAV Airports Chief Commercial Officer and TAV Operations Services CEO Aude Ferrand; TAV- WAI Airport Services CEO Yuki Onishi; Turkish Airlines’ Japan Director Ahmet Tuğcu; and Turkish Airlines Deputy Vice President of Sales for Asia and the Far East Ümit Develi.

Entry to the new lounge is available for Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles Elite, Elite Plus and Corporate card holders and Star Alliance Gold members, first and business class passengers.

Operations are managed by TAV-WAI Airport Service, a 50-50 joint venture established specifically for this investment.

“We offer our guests a variety of flavours from Turkish and Japanese cuisines and a blend of two rich cultures in terms of design and sensory elements.

“This lounge represents more than just a service space; it is a destination where Turkish and Japanese cultures come together to offer our travellers an unforgettable hospitality experience.”

Ferrand also praised TAV OS’s commercial partners in the project, Turkish Airlines and WAI Lounge Japan.

She commented: “WAI Lounge Japan is a local partner specialised in airport and passenger services in Japan and will play a big part in how we best meet the needs of our guests arriving from the region.”

Ferrand noted that Asia Pacific will be one of the fastest-growing regions in the coming decades in terms of passenger traffic and that TAV OS is actively looking for further opportunities to widen its footprint in the region.

She concluded: “Although there is strong competition, with our experience in crafting tailor-made hospitality solutions and our larger group expertise in overall airport experience, I believe that we are well placed to expand our presence in the region.”
