Emo revival vets Marietta announce reunion tour with awakebutstillinbed
The Philly band will play three hometown shows (two of which are already sold out) and other East Coast dates ahead of Best Friends Forever fest.

Philly emo revivalists Marietta recently announced that they’re coming back from a 10-year hibernation to play the Best Friends Forever festival, and now they’ve announced an East Coast tour happening right before they fly to Vegas for the fest. Support comes from another great, comparatively newer emo band, awakebutstillinbed. It begins with three hometown Philly shows (the first two of which are already sold out), and then they play Boston’s Sinclair on 10/6, Brooklyn’s Warsaw on 10/7, and DC’s Black Cat on 10/8. Tickets are on sale now and presumably already moving quick. All dates are listed below.
Marietta formed in 2011 and quickly picked up the scrappy Midwest emo revival torch as the revival’s OGs like Algernon Cadwallader, Snowing, and Grown Ups were breaking up. They released a split EP with their friends Modern Baseball in 2012 before either band had really broken out of the local Philly scene, and the following year saw the release of their now-classic debut album Summer Death and a mostly-acoustic split with emo revival bands from outside of their local scene: You Blew It!, Dikembe, and Nai Harvest. They shared space with Modern Baseball on another split in 2015 (that also included Spraynard, The Weaks, Hurry, and Beach Slang) and released their second and final album As It Were that same year before playing their final pre-hiatus show at Philly’s Kat Kat Phest on December 27, 2015.
Glad to have you back, Marietta!
