Disney held a panel at SXSW this weekend going into Marvel and “Star Wars” attractions at the studio’s theme parks, and revealed that some robotic creations from their upcoming works are set to debut in real life.

The panel included an appearance by Robert Downey Jr. who is consulting with Disney Imagineering on the previously announced Avengers Campus for Disney California Adventure.

Downey will reprise his Tony Stark role for the attractions and says even when work on the Stark Flight Lab ride is done, he will “stay involved for the long haul” and this “isn’t a one-time deal. I say this with all the humility I can muster: you need more me.”

Also shown off was concept art from the upcoming “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”. It features the team and their 1960s-inspiredretro-futuristic alternate reality New York, complete with the Baxter Building.

The characters are coming to the Tomorrowland section of Disneyland California this summer, Disneyland guests can encounter Marvel’s First Family as part of meet-and-greets.

In addition an animatronic H.E.R.B.I.E. robot is also in the works from Disney Imagineers for inclusion in the park – “a fully functioning analog computer [that] assists the Fantastic Four in their quest to protect Earth.”

Then came the news that the previously announced Mandalorian version of “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run” will open Memorial Day 2026 – just in time for the new movie. Destinations will include Tatooine, Cloud City, and the second Death Star.

Additionally the BDX droids from the “Jedi: Fallen Order” video games are set to appear onscreen in “The Mandalorian and Grogu” film and will appear on theme parks and on cruise ships.
