Daniel Lanois touring, playing three NYC shows in February
The ambient pioneer and Grammy-winning producer is bringing his “Reflections” show to select US cities this year.

Ambient pioneer, lap-steel guitarist songwriter and Grammy-winning producer to the stars Daniel Lanois has a few live shows lined up in select cities through the spring, hitting NYC, Chicago and Los Angeles. All dates are listed below.
There are three Lanois events in NYC next week. The first is February 21 at National Sawdust as part of the On Air festival where he’ll perform live and talk with Justin Richmond, host of Broken Record, about his music and producing career, which includes’ U2’s The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby, Robbie Robertson’s self-titled 1987 album, Bob Dylan’s Oh Mercy, and Peter Gabriel’s So and Us.
After that he’ll play St. Ann & The Holy Trinity on February 22, which is his “Reflections” show: “REFLECTIONS presents an evening of sound and light with legendary ambient producer Daniel Lanois. Blending studio-to-stage techniques, Lanois will perform a solo ambient set for pedal steel and sampler, using a multitrack setup to reimagine his existing material in real time. New-age jazztronics duo YAI open the night.”
The final of his three NYC shows is at Baby’s All Right on February 23 and is described as “an evening of instrumentals and sonics.”
Lanois will also perform “Reflections” at Chicago’s Epiphany Center for the Arts on April 4, and LA’s First Congregational Church on May 3.
