A new report claims that Christopher McQuarrie’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” held a test screening on March 1st and the reactions so far have reportedly been very positive.
World of Reel claims that two slightly different cuts were screened in different rooms that evening, with both clocking in at around three hours each – pretty close to the 163 minute runtime of prior entry “Dead Reckoning”.
The biplane sequence seen in the trailers is said to be the showstopper sequence, and likely the one an audience member “almost had a heart attack” watching according to McQuarrie.
The report also claims a small subplot in the film will include flashbacks of a younger Ethan Hunt. ‘Dead Reckoning’ also had very brief flashbacks, but were seen from Ethan’s POV.
Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Angela Bassett, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, and Frederick Schmidt all star in the film.
“Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” will be released in cinemas nationwide on May 23rd.
