On April 2, the cornerstone was laid for a new 10,000 m² aircraft maintenance hangar complex in the southern area of the Airport City business district. The three-hangar facility will be primarily leased by Magnetic MRO, a global aircraft maintenance company. The total cost of the project is approximately 14 million euros, and the building is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Veiko Keerberg, Chairman of the Management Board of Airport City AS, emphasized that the project was initiated to meet the growing global demand for high-quality aircraft maintenance services. “Airport City’s role is to develop the airport’s business environment by offering efficient and modern solutions for companies directly or indirectly connected to aviation. These new, state-of-the-art hangars serve this purpose by being more energy-efficient and meeting the highest international standards. This contributes not only to the growth of our clients’ businesses but also to the development of the Airport City business district. The hangar complex has been designed to allow for future expansion, enabling the construction of additional hangars – either individually or as multiple units – within the same area if needed,” said Keerberg.

The new hangars will support Magnetic MRO’s expansion plans, allowing the company to serve more clients.

“The need for additional maintenance hangars has been on our agenda for years, even before recent global crises. Until now, Magnetic Group has primarily expanded outside Estonia. However, thanks to this forward-looking collaboration with Tallinn Airport and AS Airport City, we can take our next expansion step here in Estonia. These new hangars will strengthen Magnetic MRO’s position globally, while also contributing to Estonia’s economic growth through job creation and industry development,” said Jan Kotka, CEO of Magnetic MRO.

The construction partner for the hangar complex is NOBE, a company with extensive experience in industrial building development. “The Airport City hangar complex is an ambitious and exciting engineering project, and NOBE’s long-standing expertise in industrial construction is a valuable asset in its development. We prioritize energy efficiency and sustainable principles to create modern infrastructure that supports both Magnetic MRO’s growth and the overall advancement of Estonia’s aviation sector,” said Priit Nigols, Board Member of NOBE.

Construction of the hangar complex began in autumn 2024, with completion scheduled for the end of 2025. The facility is being built in accordance with energy-efficient and sustainable development principles, contributing to the broader growth of Tallinn Airport and the Airport City business district.
