This week, the Compensation Clinic comes from my BA flight this past Monday from London Heathrow to Cairo, which was supposed to have working WiFi but didn’t.

Remember that you can email us, send a message via Facebook, or use Twitter to include photos too. We’ll try to cover Compensation Clinic cases here regularly.

You can access BA here.

The crew announced onboard that the WiFi was not working, and that was the case. The WiFi was turned on, but you couldn’t access or pay for it.

I was highly disappointed, as these flights between Heathrow and Cairo are on these awful short-haul planes. They don’t have any entertainment options, and the equipment is precisely the same as a domestic 40-minute flight within the UK.

This flight was the last segment of my RTW ex-Cairo that I issued last year. The first flight, LHR-CAI, also had issues that led to a misconnect and roughly $1K cash wire from BA: Compensation Clinic: Delayed British Airways Flight CAI-LHR-GIG & UK261 Compensation

WiFi Complaint

I used the BA’s complaint platform and received an immediate confirmation that the feedback had been received.

The response with 10,000 bonus Avios arrived the following day.

And they were also immediately in my The Club account.

Conclusion

This BA LHR-CAI flight was the most uncomfortable flight since the CAI-LHR that I took in October.

BA’s seats on these planes are brutal, with zero padding. You don’t have any BA-provided entertainment, and the food, even in business, is crap.

Luckily, I had spent a few hours at the Concorde Room and had a light dinner there, knowing nothing edible would be provided onboard.

BA, however, is very good at processing complaints/feedback, but I would have rather had working WiFi and been able to do something during this miserable flight.
